With Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) becoming an important component in the modern electric network, Taipower sought to employ BESS as a solution for balancing distribution networks’ supply and demand, indicated by rising and falling frequency. Basing the solution on an IEC 61850 platform and requirements for fast frequency polling/sampling and response, Intelligent Cloud Plus (ICP) introduced SATEC’s PM335 PRO meter as a unique building block, answering and exceeding all requirements.
